Vadodara to Aurangabad Drive to Explore the Man-made Wonder of India tour will begin with pick up from Vadodara airport. Visit grand palaces, museum & garden in Vadodara. Then proceed to visit the UNESCO World Heritage archaeological site of Pavagadh-Champaner & 182 metres high world’s tallest Statue of Unity in the backdrop of Sardar Sarovar Dam. Continue drive to Nashik a spiritual city with jyorirlinga temple and wine-yard. Next head to Aurangabad and explore the archaeological monuments and caves of Ajanta & Ellora. Tour will end with drop-off at Aurangabad airport. 

 

Day 1: Arrive Vadodara

On arrival at Vadodara airport assistance & transfer to hotel check in at hotel. 

Later visit Lakshmi Vilas Palace the largest private dwelling built till date, four times the size of Buckingham Palace. The striking Laxmi Vilas Palace was constructed in 1890 and took nearly twelve years to complete. Sprawling across an area of about 700 acres, it is still home to the royal family of Vadodara, the Gaekwads. It is built in the Indo-Saracenic style which is a hybrid of the Hindu, Gothic and Mughal architectural forms with the presence of domes, minarets and arches. The Laxmi Vilas Palace incorporates several other buildings within its complex including the LVP Banquets and Conventions, Moti Baug Palace and the Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum building. Maharaja Fateh Singh Museum houses an extraordinary collection of paintings by Raja Ravi Verma and various other artifacts gathered from all around the world.

Also visit Kirti Mandir, built to commemorate the memory of his beloved ancestors in 1936 as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of his mighty administration. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 2: Vadodara - Kevadia (90kms) 

Drive to Kevadia via visiting UNESCO World Heritage Site of Champaner-Pavagadh, located around the historical city of Champaner, a city which was founded by Vanraj Chavda, the most prominent king of the Chavda Dynasty, in the eighth century. The site encompasses forts, temples, mosques, mausoleum complexes, pavilions, wells and tanks built around 1523 in Indo-Saracenic architecture.

Continue drive to Kevadia & check in at tent city/ hotel. Later Visit Sardar Sarovar Dam, the world`s second-largest concrete gravity dam, located on the mighty Narmada river near the Statue of Unity. Sardar Sarovar Dam provides electricity, drinking, and irrigation water to four states in India. Valley of Flowers, a beautifully landscaped garden with the mighty Narmada river and the Statue of Unity in the background. Made to give a glimpse into local ecology, featuring hundreds of species of native flowers, shrubs, trees, bamboo, grasses, and more. Also featuring many selfie points for all visitors to capture photos from the most scenic spots. Evening Light and Sound show at Statue of Unity (Monday Closed). Lunch, dinner and Overnight at hotel/ Tent.

 

Day 3: Kevadia - Nashik (310kms)

Visit Statue of Unity worlds tallest statue (height 182 metres). The high-speed elevators will take you to a height of about 400 feet through the core of the statue where you can get panoramic view of the surroundings. 

Later drive to Nashik check in at hotel. Rest time free to relax. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 4: Nashik 

City tour of Nashik visit Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlingas Temple, constructed by the third Peshwa Balaji Bajirao (1740-1760) at the site of an even older temple at the foot of the Brahmagiri Hill, flanked by the hills of Nilagiri and Kalagiri. Made entirely of black stone, it is a beautiful pilgrimage center for Hindus, dedicated to Lord Shiva. River Godavari originates from Kusavarta, a pond within the temple premises. While you are here, you can also explore the impressive Brahmagiri Fort, and Gangadwar, located in close vicinity to the temple. Next visit Panchavati Temple complex on the bank of Godavari River which include Ram Kund where Lord Rama believed to have bathed in water tank. Shri Kalaram Sansthan Mandir an ancient shrine to Lord Rama, and Sita Gufaa caves. 

Also visit Sundarnarayan Temple, ISKCON Temple & millennium old Pandavleni Caves. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 5: Nashik - Aurangabad (170kms)

Drive to Aurangabad via visiting Shirdi known as home of revered spiritual leader Sai Baba. The Samadhi Mandir shrine has an ornate marble statue of Sai Baba, alongside his tomb. Close by are Dwarkamai, a mosque where Sai Baba once lived, and tree-lined Lendi Garden. 

Arrive Aurangabad check in at hotel. Later visit Bibi ka Maqbara built in 1678 is a sons loving tribute to his mother, Panchakki which discharged water on the wheel to power the flourmill and grind grain for the pilgrims & Aurangabad Caves artificial caves that were dug out of soft rock during the 6th & 7th century. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 6: Aurangabad - Ajanja - Aurangabad (210kms round) 

Breakfast at hotel, excursion to Ajanta (Monday closed). The Buddhist Caves of Ajanta were discovered by the British officers in 1819 while hunting tiger. Ajanta Caves were first mentioned in the writings of the Chinese pilgrim Hiuen Tsang who visited India between AD 629 and 645. The Caves at Ajanta are older than those at Ellora which date from about 200 BC to 650 AD. Thirty beautiful Buddhist Caves with mesmerizing sculptures and paintings depicting Buddha`s life as well the lives of the Buddha in his previous births. Five of these Caves are Chaityas (Place of worship) while the other twenty-five are Viharas (monasteries). Ajanta Caves are divided in two categories based on two schools of Buddhist thought - Hinayana Caves and Mahayana Caves. Drive back to Aurangabad for overnight stay. Buddhist Caves with mesmerizing sculptures and paintings depict Buddhas life as well the lives of the Buddha in his previous births.

Drive back to Aurangabad. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 7: Aurangabad - Mumbai

Excursion to visit Ellora Caves. It houses 34 monasteries and temples date back from 600 to 1000 AD. 

Also visit Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple & Daulatabad Fort. Later transfer to airport to board evening flight for onward destination.
