Embark on a cultural exploration of Bhubaneswar with our private tour, "Treasures of Bhubaneswar". Day 1: Arrival in Bhubaneswar
Upon arrival at Bhubaneswar airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you can relax and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2: Bhubaneswar, Konark Temple and Dhauli Sightseeing
After breakfast, you will start your day by visiting the famous Lingaraja Temple, a masterpiece of Hindu temple architecture. This temple dates back to the 11th century and is considered one of the finest examples of purely Hindu temples. The entire temple is adorned with elaborate carvings and sculptures. Next, you will visit the Mukteshwara Temple, one of the most ornate temples in Bhubaneswar. The temple's intricate carvings of the deities stand testimony to the influence of Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain styles of architecture. The carvings on the roof are specially striking. Then, you will visit the Parashurameshwara Temple, a small but richly decorated shrine of Shiva that was built in the 7th century. It is one of the best examples of the Orissa style of temple architecture.
After visiting these temples, you will proceed to Konark to visit the world-famous Konark Temple, also known as the Sun Temple. This temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered one of the "Seven Wonders of India". It was built in the 13th century and is a masterpiece of ancient Indian architecture. The temple is designed in the shape of a chariot with 12 wheels, each representing a month of the year. The entire temple is adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures. You will have ample time to explore the temple and learn about its fascinating history.
Then, visit Dhauli, where the Mauryan Emperor Ashoka embraced the teachings of Buddha after his victory over the kingdom of Kalinga. You will also see the Peace Pagoda and two ancient rock edicts. In the afternoon, you will visit the Udaigiri and Khandagiri caves, the largest Buddhist complex in Orissa, where you will see monasteries, Chaitya, and Stupas.
In the evening, you will return to Bhubaneswar and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: Bhubaneswar Departure
After breakfast, check-out of your hotel and transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
