Day 1: Arrival in Chennai

Upon arrival at Chennai airport, you will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in and some rest, you will go for a half-day city tour of Chennai. You will visit Fort St. George, the first British fortress in India, and the Kapaleeswarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Day 2: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram (120 km)

After breakfast, you will drive to Kanchipuram, the city of temples. Here, you will visit the Kailasanathar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the Ekambareswarar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of an ancient mango tree. Later, you will drive to Mahabalipuram, where you will visit the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Shore Temple, and the Five Rathas, a group of monolithic rock-cut temples.

Day 3: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (120 km)

After breakfast, you will drive to Pondicherry, a former French colony. Here, you will visit the Aurobindo Ashram, founded by Sri Aurobindo in 1926, and the famous Auroville, an experimental township that was founded in 1968. Later, you can enjoy a leisurely walk around the French Quarter of Pondicherry, which has a distinct European feel.

Day 4: Pondicherry - Thanjavur (180 km)

After breakfast, you will drive to Thanjavur, the cultural capital of Tamil Nadu. On the way, you will visit the Nataraja Temple at Chidambaram, dedicated to the dancing posture of Lord Shiva, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Gangaikonda Cholapuram, which was the capital of the Chola dynasty in the 11th century. Later, you will visit the Darasuram Temple, a stunning example of Dravidian architecture.

Day 5: Thanjavur - Trichy (60 km)

After breakfast, you will visit the Brihadeeswarar Temple, also known as the Big Temple, which is one of the largest and most famous temples in South India. Later, you will drive to Trichy and visit the Rock Fort Temple, which is perched on a 272-foot high rock. You can also visit the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, one of the largest temple complexes in India.

Day 6: Trichy - Madurai (130 km)

After breakfast, you will drive to Madurai, one of the oldest cities in South India. Here, you will visit the Meenakshi Amman Temple, dedicated to the goddess Meenakshi, and the Tirumalai Nayak Palace, a magnificent palace that was built in the 17th century. You can also visit the Gandhi Memorial Museum, which houses a collection of exhibits and artifacts related to Mahatma Gandhi.

Day 7: Departure

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and check out. As per your flight schedule, transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
