Annamalaiyar Temple, a breathtaking temple complex dedicated to Lord Shiva, at the base of Annamalai Hills. As you walk closer to the grand temple complex, you'll notice how marvellously the structures have been built. This 25-acre complex is sure to mesmerize you with its beauty and elegance. There are numerous intricately adorned shrines and halls within the entire temple complex which is also considered as one of the largest temple complexes in India. See the splendid eastern gopuram (tower), which is one the tallest temple towers in India as it stands 66 metres tall and the gorgeous thousand-pillared hall that extends serenely in the temple complex. The Temple is considered as one of the temples associated with the Fire element of the the five elements and is significant to the Hindu sect of Shaivism. It is said that visiting this temple and offering prayers with a clean heart will absolve one's sins.

Ramana Ashram, located at the foothills of the Arunachala hills, the Ramana Ashrama is famous for having served as home to the modern sage and Advaita Vedanta philosopher, Ramana Maharshi, from the year 1922, until his death in the year 1950. The Sage Maharshi Ramana was regarded as an outstanding enlightened being by his followers. Many devotees got attracted to his charismatic personality, and his teachings are now spread in many regions, making him respected and renowned all across the globe. 

Drive back toward Chennai via visiting Vellore Golden Temple at Sripuram located on 100 acres of land and has been constructed by the Vellore-based charitable trust, Sri Narayani Peedam, headed by its spiritual leader Sri Sakthi Amma also known as ‘Narayani Amma’. The temple with its gold (1500 kg) covering, has intricate work done by artisans specializing in temple art using gold. Every single detail was manually created, including converting the gold bars into gold foils and then mounting the foils on copper. Gold foil from 9 layers to 10 layers has been mounted on the etched copper plates. Every single detail in the temple art has significance from the vedas. 

The Vellore Fort built during Channa Bommi Nayaka and Thimma Reddy Nayaka in the 15th century and happens to be one of the best examples of military architecture in South India. These two who built Vellore fort were Chieftains under Sadashiva Raya who was the ruler of Vijayanagara at that time. It is one of the most massive forts built during its time and is considered as one of the unique forts in India. It is spread over an area of more than 500 meters, situated at an altitude of 220m. Located right in the centre of the city, it has a giant moat at its entrance, where 10,000 crocodiles used to swim earlier.
Jalakandeswarar Temple located, precisely within Vellore Fort. The temple is a magnificent representation of grand Vijayanagaram Architecture. One may also observe detailed sculptures dedicated to other Hindu deities such as Lord Vishnu, Goddess Mahalakshmi, Goddess Parvati, Lord Brahma, and Goddess Saraswathi. The Temple is a highly regarded landmark highlighting the architectural skill of ancient times, while showcasing the significance of special traditions upheld by the Hindu community, which invoke feelings of peace and a connection to the divine.
