Day 1: Arrival in Kullu, Visit to Kullu Valley, and Manikaran, Transfer to Manali
Your journey begins with your arrival at Kullu airport, where you'll be warmly welcomed by your driver and guide. The adventure commences as you explore the stunning Kullu Valley, famed for its breathtaking vistas of a lush green valley surrounded by towering deodar and pine trees, with snow-capped peaks in the distance. Your next destination is Manikaran, a renowned pilgrimage site for both Sikhs and Hindus. Situated in the Parvati Valley along the serene banks of the Parvati River, it's a place of spiritual significance. After an enriching visit, you'll continue your journey to Manali, where you'll check in at your hotel. The remainder of the evening is yours to relax and unwind. Overnight stay at your Manali hotel.
Day 2: Manali City Tour
Following a hearty breakfast, you'll embark on a captivating city tour of Manali, a charming Himalayan resort town nestled at high altitudes. Your first stop is the Hidimba Devi Temple, an ancient cave temple surrounded by the enchanting Dhungiri Van Vihar, a cedar forest located at the foothills of the majestic Himalayas. Next, you'll visit the Vashisht Village, home to a pyramid-shaped stone temple dedicated to Sage Vashisht, as well as a revered water spring known for its medicinal properties. Your exploration continues with visits to the Tibetan monastery, which includes the Himalayan Nyingmapa Gompa and Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa. You'll also have the opportunity to visit the historic Manu Temple, a sacred Hindu shrine dedicated to Sage Manu, while enjoying the awe-inspiring views of forested hills. Later, you'll head to Old Manali, located on the opposite side of the Manalsu River. Here, you'll have the chance to experience the old-world charm of small markets, continental cafes, and local eateries. The rest of the day is yours to explore at your leisure, and you may wish to take a stroll along the Mall Road. Enjoy your overnight stay at your hotel in Manali.
Day 3: Manali - Rohtang Pass - Manali (55kms/1.3hrs approx one way)
Enjoy a delectable breakfast at your hotel before embarking on an excursion to Rohtang Pass, a high mountain pass situated at an elevation of 3,980 meters (13,058 feet). Rohtang Pass serves as a natural boundary between the predominantly Hindu culture of the Kullu Valley in the south and the arid, high-altitude Lahaul and Spiti valleys, characterized by their Buddhist culture, in the north. The pass is located at the watershed between the Chenab and Beas river basins. On the southern side of Rohtang Pass, you'll witness the emergence of the Beas River as it flows southward, while on the northern side, the Chandra River, which originates in the eastern Himalayas, flows westward. The journey to Rohtang Pass and back to Manali is filled with awe-inspiring natural beauty and unforgettable landscapes. Upon returning to Manali, you'll have free time to relax and explore the Mall Road. Enjoy an overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 4: Manali - Kullu Airport (50kms) / Departure
Following breakfast at your hotel, and depending on your flight schedule, you'll be transferred to Kullu airport. This marks the end of your captivating journey through the picturesque landscapes and vibrant culture of this region. As you board your flight for Delhi, you'll carry with you cherished memories of this adventure.
