From the bustling streets of Delhi to the serene surroundings of Dharamsala, visit historical landmarks, temples, and forts, and witness the military ceremony at the India-Pakistan border. Day 1: Delhi - Amritsar (Train No.12 29 SWARNA SHTBDI, 720/ 1345hr)
Start your day with an early morning pick-up (between 5-6 am) from your hotel and transfer to the railway station to board the Satabdi train to Amritsar. On arrival, you will be greeted by our representative who will assist you with the transfer to your hotel. After freshening up, you will visit the Wagah border to attend the famous Beating Retreat ceremony. The soldiers from the Indian and Pakistan military engage in a 30-minute display of military camaraderie and showmanship. Overnight at the hotel in Amritsar.
Day 2: Amritsar - Dharamsala (210kms)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin your city tour of Amritsar. You will visit the Golden Temple, which is one of the most sacred pilgrim spots for Sikhs, famous for its full golden dome. You will also visit the central Sikh Museum atop the Clock Tower, Guru Ka Langar that offers free food to around 20,000 people every day and the Durgiana Temple, which is similar to the Golden Temple in its architecture. Afterward, you will visit the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum, famous for its rare and priceless collections, particularly Paintings, Weapons, Armours, Manuscripts & Coins. Later, you will enjoy a rickshaw ride and walking tour of the old market in Amritsar. After lunch, you will drive to Dharamsala and check-in at your hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Dharamsala.
Day 3: Dharamsala
Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel, followed by a visit to McLeodganj, the residence of the Dalai Lama and home to most of the Tibetan exiles. Here, the Tibetans have established many monasteries, schools, and temples. You will also visit the main Buddhist temple, surrounded by red and gold prayer wheels that are set in motion by devotees to scatter prayers in the air. Afterward, you will visit the Bhagsunag Temple, one of the oldest temples surrounded by lovely pools and lush greenery. The two pools around the temple are believed to be sacred and are considered to contain miraculous powers of healing. Next, you will visit the Bhagsu Waterfalls, a peaceful, serene place recommended by Lonely Planet for a nice feel of nature throughout. You will also visit Dal Lake, surrounded by Deodar trees, with the temple of Durgeshwara Mahadev by the lakeside. Finally, you will visit the Church of St. John in the Wilderness, a neo-gothic architecture built-in 1852. Overnight at the hotel in Dharamsala.
Day 4: Dharamsala - Delhi (flight)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will check out and transfer to the Dharamsala airport to board your flight to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, our representative will assist you with the transfer to your hotel.
