Day 1: Delhi - Amritsar (Train No.12 29 SWARNA SHTBDI, 720/ 1345hr)

Your journey begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel (between 5-6 am) as you head to the railway station to board the Swarna Shatabdi train to Amritsar. Upon your arrival in Amritsar, our representative will be there to greet you and facilitate your transfer to the hotel. After a refreshing break, your first destination is the Wagah border, where you'll witness the iconic Beating Retreat ceremony. The ceremony is a 30-minute spectacle featuring Indian and Pakistani soldiers demonstrating military camaraderie and showmanship. You'll spend the night at your hotel in Amritsar.

 

Day 2: Amritsar - Dharamsala (210kms)

Following breakfast at your hotel, you'll embark on a captivating city tour of Amritsar. The first stop is the revered Golden Temple, known for its iconic golden dome and significant spiritual importance for Sikhs. You'll also explore the central Sikh Museum located atop the Clock Tower, visit the Guru Ka Langar that provides free meals to thousands of people daily, and discover the Durgiana Temple, which shares architectural similarities with the Golden Temple. Your tour continues with a visit to the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum, housing an exceptional collection of paintings, weapons, armor, manuscripts, and coins. Afterward, you'll enjoy a rickshaw ride and a walking tour through the bustling old market in Amritsar. Following lunch, you'll embark on a picturesque drive to Dharamsala, where you'll check in at your hotel and spend the night.

 

Day 3: Dharamsala

Your day begins with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before you journey to McLeodganj, the residence of the Dalai Lama and a significant hub for Tibetan exiles. Here, you'll encounter numerous monasteries, schools, and temples that reflect the Tibetan culture. The primary Buddhist temple, encircled by red and gold prayer wheels, is a highlight of this visit. Devotees spin these prayer wheels to release their prayers into the air. Your tour proceeds to the Bhagsunag Temple, an ancient shrine situated amidst serene pools and lush greenery. The temple's pools are believed to have miraculous healing properties. The next stop is the Bhagsu Waterfalls, a tranquil and enchanting destination, highly recommended by Lonely Planet for its serene natural surroundings. You'll also visit Dal Lake, encircled by Deodar trees, and home to the Durgeshwara Mahadev temple by the lakeside. Concluding the day's exploration, you'll visit the Church of St. John in the Wilderness, an architectural gem built-in 1852. Your night will be spent at the hotel in Dharamsala.

 

Day 4: Dharamsala - Delhi (flight)

Following breakfast at the hotel, it's time to check out and head to Dharamsala airport for your flight back to Delhi. Upon your arrival in Delhi, our representative will ensure your comfortable transfer to your hotel, marking the conclusion of your enriching journey.
