Day 1: Arrive Chennai

Upon arrival at the Chennai airport, you will be met by a representative who will assist you in your transfer to your hotel. After checking in (hotel check-in time is 12pm), you will have some time to rest and freshen up before heading out for a city tour of Chennai. Some of the must-see places in Chennai include the Kapaleeswarar Temple, Fort St. George, Marina Beach, and the Government Museum.

Day 2: Chennai - Mahabalipuram (120kms)

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to Mahabalipuram. Along the way, you will stop at Kanchipuram to visit some of the ancient temples. Upon arrival in Mahabalipuram, you will have some time to relax before visiting the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Shore Temple, which dates back to the 8th century.

Day 3: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (120kms)

In the morning, you will depart for Pondicherry, a former French colony known for its charming streets and beautiful architecture. Upon arrival, you will visit the Aurobindo Ashram, which was founded by Sri Aurobindo Ghose and his followers, and the Manakula Vinayagar Temple, one of the oldest and most popular temples in Pondicherry.

Day 4: Pondicherry - Chidambaram - Gangaikonda Cholapuram - Darasuram - Thanjavur (180kms)

After breakfast, you will depart for Thanjavur, with stops along the way to visit the Nataraja Temple in Chidambaram, the Great Living Chola Temples in Gangaikonda Cholapuram, and the Airavatesvara Temple in Darasuram. These ancient temples, built during the Chola dynasty, are UNESCO World Heritage Sites and are considered to be some of the finest examples of South Indian temple architecture.

Day 5: Thanjavur - Trichy (60kms)

In the morning, you will visit the Brihadeeswarar Temple in Thanjavur, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and a masterpiece of Chola architecture. Afterwards, you will drive to Trichy and visit the Rock Fort Temple and the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, one of the largest functioning Hindu temples in the world.

Day 6: Trichy - Madurai (135kms)

After breakfast, you will depart for Madurai, one of the oldest cities in South India. Upon arrival, you will visit the famous Meenakshi Amman Temple, a sprawling complex with 14 gopurams (towering gateways) and thousands of intricately carved pillars.

Day 7: Madurai - Rameshwaram (170kms)

After breakfast, you will drive to Rameshwaram, an island town located off the eastern coast of India. Upon arrival, you will visit the famous Ramanathaswamy Temple, one of the most sacred temples in India and a major pilgrimage site for Hindus.

Day 8: Rameshwaram - Kanyakumari (320kms)

After breakfast, you will depart for Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of the Indian mainland. Upon arrival, you will check in at your hotel and have some time to relax on the beach and watch the sunset.

Day 9: Kanyakumari - Kovalam (80kms)

After breakfast, visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, a popular tourist attraction built in memory of the great Indian philosopher Swami Vivekananda. Explore the Thiruvalluvar Statue, a massive stone sculpture dedicated to the poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar. Later, drive to Kovalam, a serene beach town known for its beautiful sandy beaches and Ayurvedic treatments. Check in at your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 10: Kovalam

After breakfast, embark on a city tour of Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala. Visit the famous Padmanabhaswamy Temple, known for its intricate Dravidian architecture and the deity of Lord Vishnu. Explore other attractions such as Attukal Temple, Napier Museum, Kuthira Malika (Palace of Horses), and Sri Chitra Art Gallery, which houses a stunning collection of traditional and contemporary Indian art.

Day 11: Kovalam - Departure

After breakfast, you will have some free time to relax and enjoy the serene ambiance of Kovalam. Later, as per your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Trivandrum airport for your departure to your onward destination, marking the end of your memorable South India tour.
