Discover the spiritual heart of India on the sacred Char Dham Yatra through the majestic Himalayas. Begin your journey with a glimpse of Delhi’s historic monuments and vibrant markets. Visit the holy towns of Haridwar and Rishikesh, known for their ghats, temples, and Ganga Aarti ceremonies. Trek to Yamunotri, the source of the Yamuna River, and Gangotri, the origin of the Ganges. Seek blessings at Kedarnath, one of the twelve revered Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. Continue to Badrinath, the famed temple of Lord Vishnu surrounded by snow-clad peaks. This pilgrimage combines spirituality, natural beauty, and centuries of sacred tradition.
Day 1: Arrive Delhi – Half Day City Tour (Old or New Delhi)
On arrival at Delhi Airport, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel. After check-in and freshening up, proceed for a half-day guided city tour of your choice:
Option 1 – Old Delhi Heritage & Bazaar Tour:
• Red Fort (Outside View): Iconic Mughal fortress and UNESCO World Heritage Site.
• Jama Masjid: India’s largest mosque, built by Emperor Shah Jahan.
• Cycle Rickshaw Ride in Chandni Chowk: Explore bustling bazaars and spice markets.
• Raj Ghat: Tranquil memorial at Mahatma Gandhi’s cremation site.
OR
Option 2 – New Delhi Monuments & Modern Sights:
• Humayun’s Tomb: Majestic Mughal garden tomb, architectural precursor to the Taj Mahal.
• Qutub Minar: 12th-century victory tower, adorned with detailed Indo-Islamic carvings.
• Lotus Temple: Striking Bahá?í House of Worship symbolizing unity and peace.
• Drive Past: President’s House, Parliament Building, and India Gate.
Evening free to relax or explore on your own.
Overnight stay at hotel in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi – Haridwar (200 km / approx. 5 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Haridwar, the ancient city where the Ganges enters the plains. Check-in at your hotel. Later, visit:
• Mansa Devi Temple: Sacred hilltop temple offering panoramic views; accessible by cable car.
• Har ki Pauri: The revered ghat on River Ganges, believed to bear Lord Vishnu’s footprint.
In the evening, witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti, with floating diyas illuminating the holy river.
Overnight stay in Haridwar.
Day 3: Haridwar – Barkot (190 km / approx. 6 hrs)
After breakfast, drive through scenic hills to Barkot, gateway to Yamunotri. Enroute stop at:
• Kempty Falls (near Mussoorie): Picturesque cascading waterfall popular among travelers.
• Lakhamandal: Mythological site with Shiva temple and ancient ruins linked to the Mahabharata.
Arrive in Barkot and check-in at the hotel.
Lunch, dinner & overnight stay at Barkot.
Day 4: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot (90 km drive + 10 km trek round trip)
Early breakfast followed by a drive to Jankichatti, the trek base.
Begin a moderate 5 km trek (one way) to Yamunotri:
• Jamunabai Kund: Sacred thermal springs where pilgrims perform ritual bathing.
• Yamunotri Temple: Temple dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, marking the river's source.
Offer prayers, explore the serene surroundings, and trek back to Jankichatti.
Return to Barkot. Lunch, dinner & overnight stay.
Day 5: Barkot – Uttarkashi (85 km / approx. 4 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi, nestled along the Bhagirathi River. Check-in at the hotel and visit:
• Vishwanath Temple: Ancient temple of Lord Shiva, revered by pilgrims of the Char Dham route.
Evening at leisure to explore local markets.
Lunch, dinner & overnight stay in Uttarkashi.
Day 6: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (200 km round trip)
Early morning departure with packed breakfast towards Gangotri, the source of River Ganga. Enroute stop at:
• Gangnani Hot Springs: Natural thermal baths amidst the mountains.
Continue to Gangotri Temple, situated at 3,048 meters, dedicated to Goddess Ganga. Perform darshan and rituals at the temple. Later, return to Uttarkashi.
Lunch, dinner & overnight stay.
Day 7: Uttarkashi – Guptkashi (210 km / approx. 7–8 hrs)
After breakfast, drive to Guptkashi, a significant town enroute to Kedarnath. Enroute witness:
• Tehri Dam: India's tallest dam and a marvel of hydroelectric engineering.
On arrival, check-in at your hotel. Evening at leisure.
Lunch, dinner & overnight stay in Guptkashi.
Day 8: Guptkashi – Gaurikund – Kedarnath (38 km drive + 14 km trek)
Early morning drive to Gaurikund, trek start point for Kedarnath.
Begin 14 km uphill trek to Kedarnath Temple, located at 3,583 meters amidst the snow-clad peaks:
• Kedarnath Temple: One of the holiest Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva, believed to be built by the Pandavas.
After evening pooja and darshan, overnight at basic accommodation (dharamshala/guest house) in Kedarnath.
Day 9: Kedarnath – Guptkashi
Optional early morning darshan at Kedarnath Temple.
Later, trek down to Gaurikund and drive back to Guptkashi. Enroute visit:
• Triyuginarayan Temple: Mythological temple marking the celestial wedding site of Lord Shiva & Parvati.
Lunch, dinner & overnight stay at Guptkashi.
Day 10: Guptkashi – Badrinath (200 km / approx. 8 hrs)
After breakfast, drive towards Badrinath, a revered Char Dham site. Enroute enjoy scenic views of:
• Chopta Meadows: Lush alpine meadows offering Himalayan vistas.
On arrival in Badrinath, check-in at hotel. In the evening, visit:
• Badrinath Temple: Sacred temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, one of the four Char Dhams, surrounded by Neelkanth Peak.
Attend evening rituals. Lunch, dinner & overnight stay in Badrinath.
Day 11: Badrinath – Kirtinagar (250 km / approx. 8 hrs)
After breakfast, visit nearby attractions:
• Mana Village: Last Indian village near the Indo-Tibet border, rich in mythology.
• Vyas Gufa: Ancient cave where Sage Vyas is believed to have composed the Mahabharata.
• Bhim Pul: Natural rock bridge over the Saraswati River linked to Pandava legends.
Later, drive to Kirtinagar, enroute visit:
• Vishnuprayag, Joshimath & Karnaprayag: Sacred river confluences with mythological significance.
Lunch, dinner & overnight stay at Kirtinagar.
Day 12: Kirtinagar – Rishikesh – Delhi (100 km + 220 km)
After breakfast, drive to Rishikesh, renowned for yoga, spirituality, and river ghats. Sightseeing includes:
• Triveni Ghat: Sacred confluence of three rivers, famous for morning/evening aarti.
• Lakshman Jhula & Ram Jhula: Iconic suspension bridges across the Ganges with spiritual lore.
If time permits, witness Ganga Aarti ceremony on the banks.
Later, drive back to Delhi. Transfer to airport for onward journey or optional hotel stay.
