Embark on a journey through Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, where you will explore the region's rich cultural heritage and traditions. This 8-day tour will take you to some of the most significant Buddhist monasteries in the area, including the famous Tawang Monastery. You will also get the chance to immerse yourself in the unique cultures of the region's tribal communities, including the Monpa and Apatani tribes. Along the way, you will witness breathtaking natural scenery, including pristine lakes, snow-capped mountains, and lush valleys. Join us on this unforgettable adventure into the heart of India's northeast.

 

Day 1: Guwahati - Orang National Park (110kms)

Upon your arrival at the Guwahati airport, you will be met and assisted by a driver who will take you to Orang National Park, which is about 110 kilometers away. Once you reach your hotel, you can check-in and rest. You will have the rest of the day free to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings. In the evening, you will be served dinner and will stay overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 2: Orang National Park - Bomdila (180kms)

On this day, you will have a morning safari in Orang National Park, where you can spot various animals, including the one-horned Rhino, tiger, elephant, leopard, deer, sambar and many others. You can also indulge in birdwatching and see exotic migratory and domestic birds. After the safari, you will proceed towards Bomdila, which is approximately 180 kilometers away. Upon arrival, you will check-in at the hotel and have lunch. Later, you can explore the local area, have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 3: Bomdila - Tawang (180kms)

After breakfast, you will visit Bomdila Monastery, which is an exact replica of Tsona Gontse Monastery in Tibet. The monastery is a center of spiritual learning and religious activities for the people of Bomdila. You will also visit Bomdila View Point, which offers a panoramic view of the Kemeng Valley. Later, you will drive towards Tawang, which is approximately 180 kilometers away. Upon arrival, you will check-in at the hotel and have lunch. You can rest for a while before having dinner and staying overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 4: Tawang

On this day, you will visit Tawang Monastery, which is the largest monastery in India and second largest in the world. The monastery is also a center of spiritual learning and religious activities for the people of Tawang. You will also visit Urgelling Gompa, which is the birthplace of His Holiness the 6th Dalai Lama. Later, you will visit the Tawang War Memorial, a monument built in loving memory of Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Indo-Sino war. The rest of the day will be free to enjoy the surroundings. You will have lunch and dinner at the hotel and stay overnight.

 

Day 5: Tawang - Dirang (140kms)

After breakfast, you will drive towards Dirang. Along the way, you will visit Jaswant Garh War Memorial and experience the beauty of Sella Lake at Sella Pass, which is 13,746 feet high. Upon arrival in Dirang, you will check-in at the hotel and have lunch. You will visit the Dirang Dzong, which is a 150-year-old fort with a Bhutanese influence. You will also visit the Hot Water Spring, which is a holy place with medicinal properties. Later, you will have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 6: Dirang - Tezpur (190kms)

After breakfast, you will leave Dirang for Tezpur, a charming city located on the banks of the Brahmaputra River. Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel and relax for a while. Later, proceed for sightseeing in Tezpur. The first stop will be Agnigarh, a mythical fortress that is believed to have been built by the demon king Banasura for his daughter Usha. Next, visit Bamuni Hills, a site with sculptures that date back to the 9th century. Then, visit Da-Parbatia, a site with doorframes that date back to 600 AD. Finally, visit Chitralekha Uddyan, a park with the finest specimen of sculptural remains of the 9th century. After the tour, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 7: Tezpur - Guwahati (180kms)

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and leave for Guwahati, the largest city in the state of Assam. Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel and take some time to relax. Later, proceed for a city tour of Guwahati. The first stop will be the Kamakhya Temple, one of the most venerated Shakti shrines in India. Next, visit the Navagraha Temple, dedicated to the nine planets in the solar system. Finally, visit Umananda Island, the smallest river island in the world. After the tour, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 8: Departure

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and transfer to Guwahati airport for your departure flight.
